Advances in Cleaner Production School (AmICUS)

Post-docs, undergraduate and graduate students of any nationality or scientific background conducting research in Sustainable Production Systems are strongly encouraged to apply to the Advances in Cleaner Production School (AmICUS) at Hermosillo in Sonora, Mexico (August 12 to 14, 2019).

The course is free of charge. All expenses, transportation and maintenance, are borne by the participants. The local organizer can provide a Homestay under demand.

Premise of the International School: Highly productive, profitable production systems can benefit from public policies, technology and environmental sustainability. Current challenges including depleting fuel and resources, freshwater shortages and climate change threaten the global supply of goods and services. Because sustainability invariably deals with living, complex systems, the knowledge on Sustainable Production Systems is interdisciplinary per se and significant conceptual advances will unquestionably occur when specialists from diverse areas are united with the goal of exchanging and creating understanding.

The AmICUS aims to address the issue of sustainability in production systems under conceptual and practical viewpoints. Focus will be given to decision-making tools that can be employed by public institutions and private companies.

Objective

The goal of International School AmICUS is to provide opportunities for close interaction among students and leading experts Partner of Advances in Cleaner Production Network conductingcutting edge research in Sustainable Production Systems, as well as to stimulate interdisciplinary discussion about hot topics in Sustainability. To achieve this goal, the school's program was organized around a series of lectures and presentation of research projects by the participating students.
