Dr Adrian Padow is Director Deakin Energy, Deakin University. Adrian is an experienced energy, resources and agrifood executive with international, private and public sector expertise in business and technology development, joint ventures, stakeholder engagement, commercialisation and program leadership.
As the Director, Deakin Energy, Adrian provides leadership in positioning Deakin University as a preferred partner for industry and government in the delivery of innovative solutions to the sustainable energy supply challenges facing modern society. The Deakin Energy initiative consolidates Deakin's value proposition in microgrid development, energy generation, distribution, storage, energy demand management and the corresponding economic policy and regulatory frameworks that impact on those systems.
Adrian has responsibility for delivery of the 7.25MW solar and storage microgrid on the Deakin University Waurn Ponds campus to address research, energy cost and sustainability objectives. He also leads development of the Hycel Technology Hub with $2 million of Commonwealth funding secured towards a $20 million hydrogen initiative.
Adrian is a Member of the Board of the Wannon Water Corporation, Victoria’s second largest regional urban water corporation, covering a 23,500 square kilometre region, servicing over 80,000 customers and managing $900 million of assets.

Adrian has a Bachelor of Applied Science (biochemistry/applied chemistry) degree, a Doctorate in industrial biotechnology, Graduate Certificate in Business Administration and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
