Conference Title: The Role of Citizen Science in the Management of Microplastic Pollution: An AUSMAP Perspective.

Dr Scott Wilson is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at Macquarie University and the Research Director of the Total Environment Centre’s Australian Microplastic Assessment Project, a citizen science driven data collection and education program designed to raise awareness and offer solutions on microplastic pollution. He is an aquatic toxicologist and over the last 20 years has researched the impacts of plastics and marine debris in aquatic environments both in Australia and internationally. His current focus is on understanding sources and impacts of plastics in the environment, while partnering with stakeholders and the community to help reduce these inputs. By working together on this issue, Dr Wilson feels we can all make a difference!
